We’re going to need a bigger boat…

We saw a shark at practice today! You can see its fin sticking out of the water in this video.

We see a variety of plants and animals whenever we practice—seals, cranes, seaweed forests. But we’ve never had to share the water with an apex predator.

From the secret files of Coach Marynka

* Kent and Jason became Top Guns. They passed their tests and became certified steers. Proud of those guys.

* The team flipped the boats over and varnished the hulls. Those upper body workouts came in handy.

* Kathy had her first dragon boat experience today. She likes the challenge and the crew. Very enthusiastic. We’ll make sure she gets all the support she needs.

Productive practice! All the pieces are beginning to fit. We should be ready for the race soon.
