Dragon Boat Restaurant Reviews: Zadna Broke Our Rut

We found a tasty and comfortable lunch spot

There’s nothing worse than hitting a rut.

Our practices have been going great. We have gained new members and gotten stronger. Our post-practice lunches, however, have gotten predictable. We keep hitting up the same three-to-four restaurants and ordering the same dishes.

We can blame this endless culinary cycle on quality and logistics issues. We keep frequenting the same restaurants partly because they serve good food. We also have to eat at restaurants that can comfortably accommodate large parties like our team.

This week, we got brave and broke the cycle by trying out a new restaurant. We went to Zadna, a casual Mediterranean eatery in Redwood City.

The lamb shawarma (spit-roasted meat) we ordered was tender and flavorful. We also like Zadna’s falafel (deep fried chick pea balls), which were crispy on the outside and soft and nutty on the inside. We were less enthusiastic about the soggy French fries.

Zadna’s layout is perfect for the team. The restaurant has long tables that allow us to sit and chat together.

After lunch, we agreed that we would return to Zadna for another meal soon. Zadna was just what we needed to break our rut.

Our lunches are just as fun as our practice sessions. Email me at dfcaptains@gmail.com today for free dragon boat lessons!
