*Time Out magazine published a guide to the dragon boat races that will take place in Hong Kong in late June through early July. DieselFish’s sister team, the Los Angeles Racing Dragons (LARD) will compete in the most hardcore event, the International Dragon Boat Federation’s Club Crew World Championships in Tsim Sha Tsui. *What’s going on with CNNgo? It seems Turner’s travel news site isn’t publishing as much content as they used to. Their Hong Kong bureau celebrated this year’s dragon boat festival with a rerun. If you haven’t already read their 2010 article about zongzi, the rice dumplings traditionally served during the festival, it will be new to you.

The Queen of Dragon Boat Racing Redux

Her highness, Princess Kate Middleton, must have read my blog post about her involvement with dragon boat racing.

According to People, her highness will once again pick up the steering oar, and race against her husband, Prince What’s-His-Name, in an upcoming dragon boat competition in Canada. My money’s on the queen of my heart!

I’m glad that Princess Kate decided to race again, even if her reintroduction to the sport is part of a publicity stunt. Cameras follow her wherever she goes, so this event will raise the public’s awareness of our sport.
